In 2012, Bluelab Design Pty Ltd worked closely with builder Hacer Group to resolve many design issues in lighting on Luna Apartments. The balcony lighting had been specified to sit on the balustrade under the railing. A fluorescent weatherproof batten was proposed, but both the builder and electrician discovered this would not work.
Bluelab designed and manufactured an LED IP-rated solid fixture to sit neatly under the rail. It was important that the LED be unobtrusive although bright, as the balcony lighting acts as fascia lighting for Luna Apartments as well. The result is beautiful and clever.
The remaining lighting within Luna Apartments was not as technical. The corridor lighting consisted of trimless LED extrusion mounted to the walls and numbers were attached to create an apartment number light. Bluelab Design achieved zero beading from the LED, the result was sophisticated and unique.
