Geelong Performing Arts Centre has been a well used arts precinct in Geelong for many professional and buddings artists.  GPAC was a constant busy hub of creative goings on around Geelong, an absolute gem among the Geelong community.  Hassell Architects were engaged to open up the Ryrie Street entrance that was once hidden behind shops.  Once the old shops were pealed away, the heritage church that had been hidden for decades, now stands proud against the new grand Ryrie Street Entrance to the Arts.  Geelong Performing Arts became Geelong Arts Centre as the new design opened up to different arts communities.  Aecom were engaged as Electrical Engineers for GAC Stage 2, they quickly reached out to Bluelab Design.  Greater City of Geelong like to have local businesses engaged for their community developments, it was fitting that Bluelab’s experience in feature lighting and community building lighting add to the experience team on this iconic project.

The Dance studios are flooded with natural daylight coupled with high ceiling they are beautiful creative spaces.  The lighting had to be high output to create efficient lighting mounted on a high ceiling.  the linear luminaires are recessed into the ceiling with a custom powder coat finish to blend in.

The lighting is effective and unobtrusive, perfect for the Dance studios function.
