Her Majesty’s Theatre – Ballarat restoration.

Over Bar and ticket booth Custom linear pendant.

Heritage Building Her Majesty’s Theatre, set in regional Victoria’s gold rush town of Ballarat, is a homage to the gold rush era’s opulence.  Ballarat enjoyed great wealth from large gold findings in the area.  Many beautiful Victorian Building are still lining the streets today.

Her Majesty’s Theatre restoration was lead by Conservation Studio in Melbourne, tasked with bringing this building back to the jaw dropping beauty with a multitude of incredible heritage features.  Having already supplied ETAP Lighting K9 Exits for the project, Bluelab Design was asked to manufacture a custom curved linear over ticket booth and bar light made from brass and timber with continuous LED lighting.

A curved stained timber sandwiched between two brass sections.  Meticulously matching the line of the booth and bar detail and finish below.  The top thin aged brass holds the suspensions and a single clear Dali cable, followed by a stained curved timber finishing off with an aged brass ‘U’ channel concealing continuous LED lighting with Remote Dali drivers.  Each piece marries together to match the same line as the cabinetry below.

These pendants became a collaboration of three skilled Geelong fabricators:  Bluelab Design with Design and lighting, Bespoke Timber crafted the curved timer and stained finish and Ore Design that manufactured the Aged brass pieces.  Ore Design manufactured the brass pieces firstly and delivered the aged brass pieces to Bespoke Timber that used the pieces as a template to craft matching timber.  The individual pieces were assembled and wired at Bluelab Design’s work shop.  HMT’s Curved linear timber and brass LED Custom light is a Regional Victoria success.
